Long Yang Club (LYC) Shanghai is a social group for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Asians, their partners and friends to meet and socialise in a friendly and supportive environment. Since 2008 we have planned for future events to be dinners, BBQs, picnics, movie nights, sporting events, and get togethers at members' houses, Dim Sum (Restaurant) and more.
The first chapter of LYC was established in London in 1983. Now there are close to 23 chapters worldwide. In China, Shanghai is the 1st Chapter to be launched with other chapters planned for Beijing and Southern China. In our Asia region, 2 x chapters have been established in New Zealand being Auckland & Wellington; Philippines (Manila); 2 x Thailand Chapters (Bangkok and Chiang Mai); 4 x Chapters in Australia (Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney).
If you wish to find out more about our friendly 'non-scene' group, please contact us and one of our convenors will get back to you shortly.
But, remember, we are not a dating club. We are part of an East-West social club whose members enjoy meeting and making new friends with persons who value real quality friendship and enjoy non-scene social activities.
People automatically think “Chopsticks & Walking Sticks” when they think of asian guys with western guys. Shanghai Chapter already has a good mix of ages of both Asian & Western people.
The Shanghai Chapter is not just a male group; we have sub-groups that are for Gay Guys, Lesbians and Transgender people. Every month we have joint functions of all the sub-groups meeting together for joint functions.
As China has not yet fully embraced G&L Communities, we thought we should make the 1st Step. While also being mindful of all sub-groups having their own individual social needs and issues. We thought about combining the community under LYC to work together to make a better community for LGBT members.
We are not a political organisation, we are a “Social Club”.
